Tomorrow our little Maggie will be 3 weeks old. Time is flying by! Especially when my days are broken up into 3 hour segments, it feels like it's going so fast. Maggie is doing really great. She eating every 3 hours and only waking up once at night. I can't complain about that! One day last week, we were with family all day so she was held all day. And she was asleep a lot of the day too. I was nervous about that night...but she ended up sleeping all night long! I woke up at 6:30 and ran to her bed to be sure she was still breathing - I couldn't believe it. Of course this isn't a regular occurrence yet, but it was a nice gift to have some good rest that night.
Maggie is getting lots of lots of love from her siblings. LOTS. Yesterday I heard Olivia say to her, " Sweetie baby, you love me, you really love me, you love me more than you love yukie." (Olivia doesn't say her L's so well, so Luke turns into Yuke, or Yukie). Everyone keeps saying how much Maggie looks just like Luke, and he is eating that up. He is really tender with her and if she is fussing, she gets calm when he gets near her. I hope they have a sweet relationship. At this point, I just hope Olivia doesn't injure Maggie with all her "love".
We are really thankful and blessed that God has given us these 3 precious children. Honestly , we have received several negative comments from people about having 3 kids. Such as, "you need to be done now" or "when are you going to stop?" or "how are you going to afford their college?" We're not offended or upset when we get these comments . Or "you sure do have your hands full now" - well we had our hands full before Maggie was born ! This morning I was reminded in Psalm 127 that "Children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward." This 3 kids are gifts from the Lord and not to be taken lightly. Yes life is very BUSY and I'm tired and have moments regularly when I think , "can we do this??" . But I know this season will pass before we know it. I want to enjoy baby Maggie as long as she's a baby!
Most days I try to take a picture of Maggie and someone else pops their head in there too. They love her so much!

| Mother's Day --I stayed home from church with Maggie since she was just a few days old. I have the best time reflecting and enjoying peace and quiet with the Lord. I was overwhelmed with thankfulness for all He has done in our lives and how far we've come since last year. Last Mother's Day I was still grieving the loss of our baby, and now my cup is overflowing! |
