8 months old!

It's hard to believe Luke is already 8 months old! The time is going way too fast. He's showing more and more of his little personality these days. He loves to eat (suck on) Uzbek bread but he's not making so much progress with self-feeding. That's ok because he's pretty funny to feed! He seems "entitled" to touch everything in his sight which can make cooking in the kitchen (while he's in his walker) quite interesting ! He is saying mamamama and dadadada a lot but mostly he seems to enjoy hearing his voice!

I took him to a local place to get his 8 month picture. It's not the greatest quality, but it only cost me $1.50 for 3 pictures!!! Maybe that will be a draw for our friends with kids to come over and visit!

Reading is fun!

I got Luke with his favorite book (Barnyard Dance) actually looking like he was reading. The book was upside down but that didn't bother him!

Happy Mother's Day!

Some days it's hard to believe I am actually a mother...and then I hear my little guy laughing (or crying) and I quickly remember! Being a mom to Luke is the greatest blessing. It has been so challenging for us to learn how to best parent him, and we know the challenges have only begun. But I feel so lucky to be able to nurture and care for him and Lord willing, lead him to be a great man one day. I had a great day today with my 2 guys. Hope you all have a great Mother's Day too.

7 months old

This crawling thing is hard, especially when I go backwards!

In the last week , Luke has been trying to crawl. He constantly rolls over on to his tummy and now is rocking back and forth. The other night he kept moving all over the floor (backwards of course) and ended up in the corner beside the couch. We sure hope he learns how to really

crawl soon because he gets so upset in the process! I'm trying to enjoy the last few days before my life changes forever, with a mobile child!

Obviously I had nothing to do with this choice of outfit today! I kept saying how ugly it was and Forrest kept saying how much Luke liked it. He said he feels like a boy. Maybe Forrest just likes dressing his little guy like a redneck, I said! Sorry for all the Nascar fans out there, but I'm not a huge fan. Luke wore his new sunglasses (thanks to his Nan) to the bazaar today. I kept hearing everyone walking by saying, "look at that sweet baby with sunglasses! " Not the norm here for sure, but he seemed to enjoy having them on.
