Finally a smile!

For some reason I've had a hard time lately catching Luke smiling on camera, but he does it all the time! Last week he went through a major giggling spell , where everything made him crack up. Instead of smiling or waving when friends came over, he just broke out into giggles! Here's Luke and me on my birthday and finally I got a good picture of him smiling. This captures my little Luke well.

Free at last!!

Not sure exactly what to do with all this freedom! But still I have to wear all these stinkin' clothes.

Finally the snow is starting to melt after a long hard winter. Just MAYBE this is the end and spring is not too far away. Well it's not exactly warm, but not below freezing and not snowing right now. Poor little Luke has been cooped up for the last 2 months, and now he's a free man! He's going to LOVE running around outside this spring and summer!

My girl Maddy

Both pictures are right before bedtime for both Luke and Maddy. In the second one they both were so happy to be in their diapers we just let them be for a while. We decided it was ok since they are under the age of 2! :)

This is Luke and his "girlfriend" Madeline. Ok, so I know someone's going to get hurt because I've promised him to others, but you know he's gotta keep all his options open! We live in a culture of arranged marriages, so perhaps I'm just being culturally appropriate!

Snow, snow go AWAY!

So we've had snow and ice on the ground since before Christmas. And it's now mid-February. And I hear that in TN it's 70 degrees -what is going on ?? They say it's the coldest winter in 30 years in Central Asia and I can believe it. Luke is going a bit stir crazy all cooped up in the house all the time. We are blessed to be able to afford to heat our house but locals are having such a hard time. Here's a picture of a crazy icicle that's been growing at our house for a while. Some days it will get above freezing during the day so things will start to melt but then every night they freeze again. We are ready for SPRING!!
