I miss Daddy already!

Forrest left today for 2 weeks in Korea. We were all sad when he left but hopefully Luke and I will try to have fun while he's gone. It's super super HOT now so we might need to frequent the pool just to cool off. His little head stays wet all day long. Pray for our safety and health while Forrest is gone as well as for him as he participates in an once in a lifetime conference in Korea.

Luke absolutely loves the jarred carrot/apple mixture that we get here. I mean gobbles every

bit of it up. And I'm so glad when his Daddy lets him play with the jar afterwards....means MORE mess! He's definitely having fun during his mealtimes!

Carb-aholic

This is the local bread that is pretty important around here. Everytime we have some on the lower table Luke grabs it and walks around in his walker gnawing on it. He's turning into a local kid (loving the bread) or maybe a carb-aholic!

Luke had a blast in Bishkek playing in the park and having some quality time with Dad.

Luke and the ladies

We visited Bishkek last week and spent time with our friends and their 2 girls. Luke had a lot of fun checking out their cool toys and trying out their snacks. Even though he had to wear a pink bib, he still had fun! :)

Fun Times

Here are some fun pics from this week. We got some Cheerios in the mail (you can't get them here) so they have been a huge hit with Luke. He's had a blast learning to feed himself. Also he's dying to stand up on his own and is trying to pull up on everything, even though he still hasn't officially begun to crawl!

Ouch!

This week Luke had his first big fall ending in a big bruise on his face and all the neighbors wondering who was that baby screaming! He fell outside in his walker when he was trying to get around too fast. Of course he was back on in no time but it's so sad to see our little guy with a big bruise on his face. Here you can see a little bit of the bruise.

Luke's First Swim

We took our first trip to the city pool today! I think Luke thought it was a big bathtub since he was so happy to be in the water (even though it was frigid since the water comes from the river!). He had a blast smiling and laughing at the other kids and playing with his duckie in the water. I have a feeling we'll be at the pool a lot this summer trying to deal with the heat. If I can wrestle him down long enough, I can get sunscreen on Luke to protect that super white skin!

Me and my Daddy

Luke truly loves his Daddy. He lights up when Forrest comes around and he loves to laugh with him and play together. Everyone says that he looks just like Forrest and he shows a lot of the same personality, so I'm going to have my hands full! It's so sweet for me to see how great of a father Forrest is. Little Luke is such a blessing in our family.
